Create a workspace and folder
When you log on Compose you will automatically enter the Organizer. Choose the workspace and folder you would like to save your form in, by clicking on the icons. If you do not have a workspace you will have to create one first.
Click Create new workspace.
Choose a name and click OK.
To create a folder, click the workspace, then click New folder and choose a folder name.
Choose a name and click OK.
Create new form
To create a new form click Create a new form in the menu on top.
Choose a name and click OK.
The name you chose will appear on the screen. Double click the form to open.
Create a page
When opening the form you will automatically be moved to the Form Builder, where you can add form elements and settings.
Enter the Builder section.
When you first enter the builder it creates a default page for you. Use this to get started building your form.
To change the title of this page click the default page icon, and enter a new title in the right hand side menu.
To add a new page, click Add new page and type the page title.
Create different question elements
Now you can add new elements to your page. Click the Input icon and it will appear on your page.
By default the new element is named New question. Click the element on the canvas. The menu appears on the right and you can erase the text. Please write the question you want answered.
You can also select where you want the text placed in accordance to the answer field. The text can be placed over, you can remove the text, or the text can be placed in front of the answering field.
Add a radio button element.
Click the radio button element on the canvas and enter the desired label text in the right hand side menu. When using this element you also need to add options, or values. Click Options.
Under text representation write the text you want as your option. Click Add to add a new option.
Every option needs to be connected to a value. Since the first option is connected to the value 1, use value 2 for the second option, and then click OK.
The options are visible next to the question. Remember to save the draft while working on it. Just click Save Draft.
Add a Check Box element and enter the desired name.
Click Options to add different options.
You create check box options the same way you create radio button options (and dropdown options).
If you want to delete an element just pick the element you wish to delete, and click Delete item in the top menu.
To add more elements simply click the ones you want to use and add the label text.
Create a group element
Sometimes it can be suitable to gather elements in a group. Click the group element.
Select the group and enter a name in the container title field. This will be the header of our group element.
We can add different elements to the group. Move the elements into the group element by picking the desired element, and simply drag and drop it into the group element.
Don't forget to save the draft from time to time.
Preview
If you want to know what your form will look like for the user, click Preview in the top menu.
Select the settings you want for the preview of your form. You do not have to change any of the settings. Just click OK to preview the form.
To test how the form will look with different settings, simply choose different settings in the Theme and Layout/Skin drop down elements, and check/uncheck the Layout/Skin Elements.
Create a version
If you are satisfied with the preview go back to settings, and create a version of your form. This will enable you to set the form in a workflow and make it available for the end users. Click New version. Click OK, and the first version of your form is created!
The form can now be used in a workflow. Learn more about building a workflow in the tutorial: Build a simple workflow.
