Workflow Builder – Settings

Workflow Builder – Settings

Compose Enterprise is going through a design update. The illustrations on this page might be of the old design, but the information is up to date. Thank you for your patience during this update!

Norsk

In the Workflow Builder you create and edit workflows. The Workflow Builder has four main sections: Settings, Builder, Variables and Languages. Before entering the Workflow Builder you need to create a new form, or open an existing form (see Organizer to get started).

Settings

In the Settings section, you can set general settings for a workflow. The workflow properties set in this section can be inherited by elements in the workflow, but they can also be overridden by configurations in the Builder section of the workflow builder. The Settings section consists of a Versions panel and a Properties panel.

Versions

Versions

Start to edit from selected version

Your draft settings will be overwritten with the settings from the selected version.

View selected version

Select a previous version and view the settings/script in a read-only view.

New version

Version the workflow to be able to launch the service.

Delete selected version(s)

Select one or multiple versions (with Ctrl/cmd) and press this button to delete them. Note: Running versions of the workflow cannot be deleted.

Properties - Workflow

Properties

Display Name

If you wish for a visible workflow name to be displayed in the respondent view, enter the name here.

Override Footer

When Override Footer is set to Yes, the footer text can be edited in the input field below (seeFooter in workflows). If set to No the default footer will be used.

Date Format

The dates in the application will be displayed for the respondent user in the format of your choosing.

Encrypt paused session data

Encrypt the data submitted by the respondent user while the session is paused. This option is highly recommended for sensitive data.

Save continue later data for

Choose how many days you wish to save the data for the respondent users who have chosen to Continue later. Read up on how GDPR affects your application to not exceed the legal amount of days.

Save pause point data for

Choose how many days you wish to save the data in a process with one or more pause points. Read up on how GDPR affects your application to not exceed the legal amount of days.

Layout/Skin

You may choose between Standard design Compose and Custom. By picking Custom you can override the design and layout settings. Select which code framework you want the design skin to be applied to in the Framework dropdown, and select a skin in the Design dropdown. Choose either the Default skin or any of your uploaded skins. The skin needs to be contained in the same repository as the workflow. Choose which Layout Elements you want displayed in the UI; Logo, workflow name, vertical and/or horizontal navigation, progress tracker etc.

Publish session state when workflow is paused

A setting for publishing the state of a session along with session data to case management portals. States are used for defining cases, say if a case is in progress, approved, rejected etc. When checked, the state will be published at pause points (see configuration of State - Metadata in Pause Point (workflow activity)).

Publish session state when Continue Later is chosen

The same as for Publish session state when workflow is paused, except the publishing happens when a session is paused to continue later instead of at a pause point.

Generic Service, Version, Update to highest minor version automatically, Map Request Variables

This generic service defines the publishing of session states, so it will only be enabled once you’ve checked either of the Publish session state … settings. The connection of the generic service is similar to other usage of generic services, covered here Generic services (form and workflow population).

Block progress if publication fails

If the publication of session state defined by the connected generic service fails, the session will be abrupted. The end-user will be shown an error page.

Case States

Add the case states you want to define the case management in a Compose Case Management (CCM) solution. These states are only usable if one of the Publish session state when …-settings are selected.

Perspectives

Select which perspective to use. For more info about perspectives, see the user guide Perspectives - Different views of the same workflow.
