Create Text File

The Create Text File activity is located under Data Delivery in the Activities panel in the Workflow Builder. Drag and drop the activity to the canvas and select it to reveal the Properties panel on the right. The Create Text File activity generates files with input from previous workflow activities. Name | For the convenience of the workflow designer. The name is only used while building the workflow, and is not shown in respondent view. If you give all the workflow activities easily identifiable names it will be easier to find the correct activity when generated files and question answers are used across the workflow. |
Selected | Under Selected click Browse and pick the text generator you want to connect to the activity. The name of the selected text generator will be visible here. A connected text generator can be removed by pressing Clear. |
Version | The preferred text generator version can be selected in the dropdown list. |
Encoding | Choose the encoding of the text generator. The default is UTF-8, but ISO-8859-1 is also an option. |
File name | The name of the file generated from the text generator can be changed in this input field. It is also possible to change the file name in a file transfer. |
Input variables | Opens the Variables menu where input variables declared in the text generator can be connected to workflow values or static values. See the section on standard variables menu in the https://composetogo.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CNGD/pages/1700921345 documentation. |
