Existing question elements

Compose Enterprise is going through a design update. The illustrations on this page might be of the old design, but the information is up to date. Thank you for your patience during this update!

In the Elements panel on the right side of the form builder you will find the tab Existing. Within is a representation of the data model containing all question elements across the different views of your form.

In the depicted case above, we are viewing the Default view which only has the Name and Address question elements active. However, we see there are additional elements in the data model (Zip codeCity etc.). These additional elements are therefore a part of a different view in the same form. In this case, the remaining elements are present in the Mobile view pictured underneath.

In the Existing tab, you have the possibility to add existing questions from your other views so question integrity is beheld across all views. You can add questions from the data model to any view which does not already have the question element active. Just click a question element marked with the yellow warning icon to add it to the currently opened page in your view.

If you want to learn more about the data model mechanism in regards to different views of a form, the user guide Views - Different views of the same form demonstrates the mechanisms.
