Transfer ID
Compose Enterprise is going through a design update. The illustrations on this page might be of the old design, but the information is up to date. Thank you for your patience during this update!
The Transfer ID activity is located under Data Delivery in the Activities panel in the Workflow Builder. Drag and drop the activity to the canvas and select it to reveal the Properties - Transfer ID panel on the right. The Transfer ID activity can be used to reserve sequential IDs for files in a file transfer. If you need an ID with a particular pre-set format, the Unique ID activity can be used instead.
Properties - Transfer ID | |
---|---|
Name | For the convenience of the workflow designer. The name is only used while building the workflow and is not shown in the respondent view. If you give all the workflow activities easily identifiable names it will be easier to find the correct activity when it needs to be referenced across the workflow. |
Selected | The ID will be used by the selected file transfer element. Click the Browse button to connect the Transfer ID to a Send via File Transfer activity in the workflow. |
Reservation time in seconds | The number of seconds the ID is reserved before it is released. To make sure the reserved ID is still available when the end-user reaches the file transfer in the workflow, this should be set on the high end. Note: If the reservation time is expired before the workflow reaches the file transfer, the completion of the workflow will fail. The reservation time runs from the first time the session passes the Transfer ID activity. It is therefore recommended to place the Transfer ID activity close to the file transfer in the workflow (and preferably without having respondent dependent activities in between). The Unique ID activity is a suitable alternative if these restrictions are not right for your workflow. |
