Authentication

Authentication

Compose Enterprise is going through a design update. The illustrations on this page might be of the old design, but the information is up to date. Thank you for your patience during this update!

What is Authentication?

When you add an authentication step to a process the respondent will have to identify themselves before accessing the service. The options available in Compose are BankID, IDPorten and Vipps. Your choice of authentication depends on the options available in your installation. Please note that adding identification to the workflow requires the respondent to have access to the authentication method chosen, to fill out the form.

To view an option in action, check out the demonstration video for the Vipps Log-in (English subtitles).

Adding an authentication step to a workflow

Create or open a previously created workflow. Navigate to the Builder section of the Workflow builder. As a basis, the workflow should at least have a start point. Select the Start Point in the canvas to display the Start Point properties panel on the right hand side.

Under Authenticate With in the properties panel of either a Start Point or a Pause Point you will find the authentication options. The available authentication methods per Compose 8.4.0 are BankIDIDPorten and Vipps. Check off the options you want to give the respondent user. You are able to offer the respondent user anything from zero to every authentication.

When using the IDPorten authentication you must also select the security level for the login. If you select the higher level security, the login options may be limited for the respondent user.

When using the BankID authentication you have the option to use with- or without Java. The old version of BankID requires the user to have an updated version of Java downloaded, and for most cases you would only need to enable the new version of BankID without Java.

There are no specific options regarding the Vipps authentication.

To use the workflow with activated authentication, please save the draft, create a new version of the workflow and start/restart the workflow (If you need help, please check out the Build a simple workflow how-to-guide.) The respondent view when allowing all authentications in a start point looks something like this:
