Languages in a workflow

Languages in a workflow

Compose Enterprise is going through a design update. The illustrations on this page might be of the old design, but the information is up to date. Thank you for your patience during this update!

Norsk

In this user guide, we’ll show how you provide a service in multiple languages. Open or create a workflow with a Start Point, some set of activities and an End Point. Navigate to the Builder section, select the Start Point in the canvas and check off User can select language in the start point Properties panel. This will enable a language panel on the start page for the end user, where they’ll be able to select a language.

In the default settings there is no language connected with the elements added to the workflow. To be able to set, add and edit languages, navigate to the Languages section. In the Languages panel, click the Add Language button.

A popup box appears. Enter a three letter lowercase ISO 639-3 language code (see list of codes here). Then click OK.

The language added first is set as the primary language in the Languages panel. To add multiple languages repeat the last step. Some frequently used codes are eng (English), nor (Norwegian), nob (Norwegian Bokmål) and nno (Norwegian Nynorsk).

Translate languages

To translate the general Properties of the workflow, please click General properties. Then select additional languages from the dropdown list in the top menu. Enter the text you prefer for the General Properties in each of the language columns.

All workflow elements can be found under Activities. Expand the list by clicking the arrowhead and select each activity to translate the related texts.

Please remember to Save Draft, set the other workflow element properties and create a version. You’ll find more guidance on setting up the Start point, Form Activity and End Point, in the Build a simple workflow user guide.

Respondent view

This is the respondent view of the bootstrap default skin. By switching language choice, the service language will change accordingly.
