Pause Point (workflow activity)
Compose Enterprise is going through a design update. The illustrations on this page might be of the old design, but the information is up to date. Thank you for your patience during this update!
The Pause Point will be a pause or a point of transition in the workflow, including among others, a redirect URL field, authentication and the possibility to send reminder emails. You find the Pause point under Connections in the workflow Activities list in the workflow builder. Add a Pause Point by dragging and dropping it to the canvas. Select the pause point in the canvas to see the Pause Point Properties panel on the right.
Properties - Pause Point | |
---|---|
Name | Convenient name for the workflow designer. Name is not shown anywhere for end-user and is only used while working in the workflow builder. |
Case State | If Compose Case Management is used in the workflow, you may choose which case state the case gets when reaching this pause point. |
Send respondent user to URL | Redirects end-user to a URL when the pause point is reached in the workflow. |
Redirect Variables | Define variables which can be used later for pre-population in the workflow. |
Goodbye Text | Enter a message that will be shown when the pause point is reached in the workflow. |
State - metadata | If the Publish session state when workflow is paused setting in the workflow settings section is chosen, the session state is defined in the State - metadata menu. See the Workflow Builder – Settings documentation for more information. |
OIDC Session logout | If the user authenticated themselves with OIDC (ID-Porten/BankID), the user will be logged out if this property is checked. |
Notification | Reminder | See bottom section. |
Continue later | Enable a continue later button in the respondent view. When the end-user clicks this button, the user is given a reference number so they can save their progress and return at a later time. When the user then revisits the form, they enter their reference number and continue where they left off. See the Continue later user guide for more details. |
User can select language | Compose supports multiple languages for each workflow. If more than one language has been added to the workflow, the respondent user can be given the choice of which language to use in respondent view. This choice will be on the first page of the continued workflow. |
Welcome Message | The message entered here will be shown on the first page of the continued workflow. It will only be available to the respondent user before entering the next workflow activity. |
Input Variables | Define variables which can be used later for prepopulation in the workflow (see Variable menus on menus with variable creation for more info). |
Authenticate With | Enable mandatory authentication to resume the workflow, with BankID, ID-porten and/or Vipps as the authentication options. (BankID OIDC and ID-porten OIDC will gradually replace the older versions BankID (Legacy) and ID-porten (Legacy)) |
ID-porten Security Level | Select preferred security level provided by ID-porten. Available options are Level 3 - Password Protected and Level 4 - Smartcard PKI. |
BankID Type | You don’t need to make any changes from the default settings as most browsers will handle the display automatically. |
Preset User SSN | Specify one user SSN which is allowed to authenticate. Specify either a static user SSN or choose a user-id from a value from the workflow. |
Trigger Configurations | Set a trigger for the pause point, which enables a flow from a trigger connector after a certain time. Configure whether the trigger is singular or repeated over a certain time frame and/or interval. There is also an option to define a customized trigger time period and the format for this custom trigger time is following the “cron expression” format and also the cronTrigger class. See this link to understand about how to use the “cron expression” format: Cron Trigger Tutorial |
Notifications and Reminders
The notifications and reminders are email activities carrying the same properties as the General and Content section of a Send Email activity. Visit the Send Email documentation to review the different properties. The only exclusive property is in the Reminder panel where you can customize when the reminder by email is sent. In the After (days) text field you can specify an amount of days until the reminder is sent.
